Josh Susong is a senior news director at The Arizona Republic and the USA TODAY NETWORK. He was the lead content editor for “The Wall,” a 2017 report on the consequences of Donald Trump’s proposed border wall, which won the Pulitzer Prize for explanatory reporting. He was also at the center of team coverage of the Yarnell Hill Fire in 2013 and the Gabrielle Giffords shooting in 2011; the Republic was a Pulitzer finalist for its work on both stories. He previously worked at the San Jose Mercury News and the Los Angeles Times. He and his family live in Phoenix, Ariz.
