Jim Hornfischer is both a World War II historian and a leading literary agent. He is the author of Neptune’s Inferno: The U.S. Navy at Guadalcanal, a New York Times bestseller, The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, a winner of the Samuel Eliot Morison Award, and Ship of Ghosts. As president of Hornfischer Literary Management, an Austin-based literary agency, Hornfischer has helped put 16 of his clients’ books on the New York Times bestseller list, including three No. 1s. His clients include “Mayborn tribe” members Ron Powers, Susannah Charleson, Tony Schwalm and Bill Marvel, as well as Alex Kershaw, Annie Jacobsen, George Friedman and Woody Holton. A native of Massachusetts, he lives in Austin with his wife and their three children.
