Jeffrey Weiss has been a reporter since 1981 and has been at The Dallas Morning News since 1988. His beats have included social services, religion and ethics , public education and the energy business. But he's written about science and medicine occasionally. Sometimes about his own issues, including Type 1 diabetes and follicular lymphoma. The day after surgery last December which identified his brain cancer as glioblastoma, he hoped he would be able to write about his experience and what he would learn. The first project was published in February. Median lifespan of GBM patients is about 14 months. He's hoping to do some more writing. Jeffrey, 62, is a native of Miami, He is married to Marni.
